This essay is the result of research whose focus, temporally, developed in the years 2014-2016, whose purposes were to give a “description” of the identity of the second generation Eritreans in Italy and narrate their interactions by evaluating the role played by the education received. The text addresses fundamental topics such as the history of Eritrea, the women’s issue, racism, colonialism and education seen from two different perspectives, “Italian” and “Eritrean”. The naturalistic method with which the “interviews” are developed and that the author, Eritrean by origin, prefers for his research, has the aim of placing the people “interviewed” not only as the object of the research itself but also as “active observers” of the reality that we want to describe, to dive together, metaphorically, into that “sea of hybrid identities” where “Eritreans in Italy” have always been immersed.
