Nahr is locked in the Cube: nine square meters of polished reinforced concrete, with systems of alternating light and dark that have nothing to do with day and night. She is a girl who learned, early and painfully, that when you are a second-class citizen, love is just a kind of desperation; she learned, above all, to survive. Raised in Kuwait by Palestinian refugees, she arrives wearing the wrong shoes in a country, Palestine, that she barely knows and there she finds goals, political passion, friends. She dreams of meeting the perfect man, raising their son and opening a beauty salon. Instead she meets the dark eyes of Bilal, who teaches her to resist, who tries to save her but when it is already too late, when the occupation is everywhere and Nahr sees no way out of that life.
